Social Media Intern

Position Summary:

The Social Media Intern will report directly to the Senior Marketing Associate and assist the marketing team.

The ideal candidate will create content for and manage the company’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Youtube) to its goals. They must possess excellent grammar and communication skills, as well as design and editing skills in order to create the right content to support our marketing campaigns. 

Success in this role requires an enthusiasm for staying up-to-date with trends in digital media and leveraging those insights to formulate strategies as well as a passion for excellence and creative problem-solving.

Reporting Relationship:    Senior Marketing Associate / Head of Marketing

Location:                         Lagos

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop, create and post content to drive action on all the company’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube).
  • Assist in planning editorial calendar and social media campaigns to reach wider audiences and increase brand awareness.
  • Run digital campaigns to increase ROI from content.
  • Work to optimize content, assess user response and generate reports on findings.
  • Work with the Senior Marketing Associate / Head of Marketing to develop tools to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and drive sales.
  • Support in managing the website and updating its content, including monitoring web traffic to identify trends, surface actionable insights, and provide standardized reporting.
  • Support the creation of content for and the publishing of the newsletter. 
  • Other duties assigned by the Senior Marketing Associate/ Head of Marketing.

Preferred Skills and Requirements:

  • Up to date knowledge of social media platforms and their respective communities (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent content creation with good graphic design and video editing skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent people and relationship management skills.
  • A keen interest in the art, culture and design industries.
