Curatorial Assistant
Position Summary:
The Curatorial Assistant will support the Head of Curatorial in all aspects of her role and will contribute to the growth and expansion of the Curatorial Department at ART X Collective.
This includes but is not limited to assessing art market trends, liaising with artists and other key stakeholders, drafting curatorial texts, researching artists, attending meetings and any other administrative duties in relation to the Curatorial Department.

Position Responsibilities:
- Communicate with artists, collaborators and team members to develop and execute curatorial initiatives, projects and propose ideas/initiatives for ART X Lagos.
- Assist with building and maintaining relations with new and existing artists and galleries.
- Draft written content and collate supporting images for curatorial projects at ART X Collective.
- Prepare drafts of post-mortem reports, and suggestions for improvements, at various stages of ongoing initiatives.
- Work with the Head of Curatorial and other teams to research contemporary artists and contemporary art trends, visiting key websites and social media.
- Stay abreast of relevant contemporary art, culture and social media trends.
- Conduct research on artists, galleries and collectors as well as innovations to feature in various projects.
- Work with various artists, curators, exhibitors and departments to execute activities. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
- Preparing proposals
- Drafting correspondence, preparing meeting agendas and taking notes at meetings.
- Coordination of bookings, logistics and support in the preparation of schedules and itineraries for visiting guests involved in curatorial programming.
- Other tasks, administrative or research duties assigned by the Head of Curatorial.
Preferred Skills and Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Adept in using social media, as well as the backend APIs across all channels.
- Passion for arts and culture.
- Determined and resourceful.
- Ability to excel under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Admirable attention to detail.
